Why concrete countertops?

Concrete looks natural and has character. Since they are made from scratch, our counters are personalized by selecting ingredients to highlight the desired look. Each countertop is as unique as the materials chosen.

Does the concrete look like what comes to mind when hearing the word?

No, decorative concrete is much different than what people might envision when hearing the word. Our concrete is made up of a proprietary mix of ingredients which, combined with proper finishing techniques, creates finished pieces that some just cannot believe is concrete. From a rustic/industrial look to a highly polished, reflective finish, we are able to create concrete that will enhance the decor of the environment it will occupy.

What will the concrete feel like?

The finished counters will be soothingly smooth. They are highly polished without the plastic look of some other countertop materials. Concrete has natural feel that people want to touch.

What colors are available?

There are literally countless colors choices. By mixing pigments and other ingredients, concrete allows for a truly handpicked look. Colors can be produced in a solid, spotted or multicolored pattern. Some options include embedding various stones, glass, fossils and other complementary trinkets. In addition to using pigments, natural finishes can be achieved by using an acid stain.

Do concrete countertops stain?

Concrete can stain if they are not cared for. To prevent staining on concrete there are different sealers which can be applied- Topical vs. Penetrating Sealers. Each type has its own advantages/disadvantages and deciding which type to use depends on the application and finish. Sealers have come a long way within the last several years, so much where staining is becoming a thing of the past.

Sealers and a little care go a long way to ensure your counters will look like the day they were installed for many years to come.

Will concrete counters scratch like granite?

Concrete counters can get scratched. However, unlike granite, they can be repaired more easily in place.

Will the countertops be shiny or more of a matte finish?

The countertops can be finished with either a flat, semi-gloss or high gloss finish.
